The Cleveland Browns have been prepared for letting rookie James Davis and Jerome Harrison split the carries against the Baltimore Ravens, with running back Jamal Lewis still nursing an injured hamstring and probably missing Sunday’s game.
The Browns’ Friday practice became Lewis’ third straight practice to be missed since he was hurt during last week’s loss to the Denver Broncos. He has been put on the team’s injury report and listed as doubtful for this weekend’s game-it is said there is at least a 75 percent chance he won’t play.
Davis gave an impressive performance during preseason. But neither he nor Harrison is expected to be as durable as Lewis, who has played in at least 15 games in each of the past four seasons.
