Bengals face potential blackout for Sunday game against Texans

Being 4-1 overall and leading the AFC North, the Cincinnati Bengals emailed a surprising announcement yesterday saying that a local blackout is likely for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

According to reports by the Cincinnati Enquirer, there are still about 7,000 tickets left for Sunday’s game, and the pace is behind the season opener against the Denver Broncos, which had 5,000 seats available with two days remaining. It is just hard to believe that it was so difficult for a 4-1 team to sell out a game. Even the Bengals receiver Andre Caldwell was surprised to know the news. He tweeted on early Tuesday: “WOW we are facing a potential blackout against Houston. Where is the support cmon fans yall gotta do better then that great game this week.”

Coincidently, the Bengals, who has sold out 46 straight regular-season and postseason games, saw its last regular-season game black out on Nov. 9, 2003, when they played against the same team they will face in this Sunday’s game-the Houston Texans.
